Digital Pre-Show
Digital Pre-Show entertainment content and advertising plays on screen for 21 minutes before showtime via DSL HD or DVD format. The Pre-Show entertains moviegoers who are in their auditoriums early to get a good seat. The Pre-Show presents a mix of current information about the stars, entertainment news, upcoming releases and advertisements. Seventy percent of Cineplex Media Pre-Show screens (representing 65% of theatres) run a timed show with advertising available in 3 PODs prior to showtime (see below), with the remaining 30% of screens (35% of theatres) featuring a 21-minute looped show that runs continuously starting 21 minutes to showtime.
Research confirms strong levels of audience engagement to the Pre-Show with average advertising recall of 63% to specific advertising and 65% correct brand association*. The Pre-Show offers excellent national coast-to-coast coverage as well as regional and market-specific flexibility.
(Cinema Advertising Impact Study 2008 - Strategic Marketing Counsel)
All Pre-Shows run for 21 minutes prior to showtime and are projected in a 16 x 9 format.
Advertising is available in three formats: Cineplex Entertainment Pre-Show HD, Empire Pre-Show DVD, and DVD loop shows.
Advertising is sold in timed PODs for Cineplex Entertainment DSL HD screens as well as Empire Atlantic region screens. All other DVD Pre-Show screens are sold in a continuous loop format (Cineplex Entertainment DVD screens, Fortune, Festival, Alliance, Landmark and Empire Theatres Ont-B.C.)
Advertising may be placed in front of all films or family genre or adult genre releases.
Supplying your creative in the incorrect format can result in extra costs and missed deadlines. Your contract will clearly state which media was purchased. If you are unsure which production specs you require or how to use them, contact the Cineplex Media production team at 416-539-8800 ext. 259 or your sales representative.
